Whose War on Science?

The Left regularly bashed conservatives for their alleged “war on science.” But from manmade global warming and energy issues to stem cell research, it’s the Left that is allowing politics to trump science. And now, despite numerous recent studies in peer-reviewed journals showing that abstinence education can have a significant effect on teenagers’ sexual decisions, the Obama administration and congressional liberals have cut abstinence education funds from the FY 2010 budget.

Valerie Huber, Executive Director of the National Abstinence Education Association, told LifeNews.com about the effects of the funding cuts. "This means that nearly two million students will return to school without the skill-building lessons they have come to expect in their abstinence education classes," she said. I understand that drastic cuts need to be made to the federal budget. But I don’t understand why they need to be made to one of our most effective tools in combating soaring rates of teen and un-wed pregnancy.-Gary Bauer
