FW: ***Important Notary Issue with the Personhood Petitions

 

Dear Friends of Personhood,

It has come to our attention that the Secretary of State is tossing out entire petitions on a technicality that most people are not aware of.  Here's the deal:

ALL NOTARIES MUST VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF THE CIRCULATOR BY USING AN ID LIKE A DRIVER'S LICENSE, PASSPORT, STATE ID, ETC.  MANY PETITIONS HAVE BEEN TOSSED OUT BECAUSE THE NOTARY LISTED "PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE" AS A FORM OF ID.  USUALLY "PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE" IS A VALID WAY FOR A NOTARY TO IDENTIFY A CIRCULATOR, BUT A NEW LAW PASSED JUST RECENTLY CHANGED THAT FOR PETITIONS LIKE OURS.

There really is no cause for concern, only make sure that from here on out, when the notary notarizes your petitions they list a form of ID such as a Colorado Driver's License and Not Personal Knowledge.

Everyone is doing a fantastic job, and although we are not at the number of needed signatures yet, I am confident that we will make it on the ballot if we are diligent with the petitions that we have and we return them, properly notarized,  with as many signatures as possible.

Please work hard during these last few days, especially at your respective churches tomorrow, and we will put our trust and hope in God for Him to bless our effort.
